Purple guava (Psidium guajava) stands out for its unique maroon-purple skin, plum-like flavor, and pink foliage. The visual traits of the fruit—specifically the rich purple pigmentation—indicate high concentrations of anthocyanin antioxidants that protect cells from damage and combat inflammation. In addition to these specialized antioxidants, it provides standard guava health benefits. It is exceptionally rich in vitamin C to support immune function, packed with potassium for blood pressure regulation, and high in dietary fiber with a low glycemic index to aid digestion and maintain stable blood sugar levels.
