When You Believe, Allah Opens the Way In our lives, we often strive hard to achieve our goals. We plan, we work, and we push ourselves to the limit. But there is something even more important than effort our belief in Allah. No matter how much we struggle, if our belief system is weak, our efforts lose their true strength. A believer must first be firm in faith before expecting success in any matter. Allah teaches us that our relationship with Him begins with trust. In a hadith qudsi, the Prophet ﷺ said that Allah says: “I am as My servant thinks of Me.” This means if we truly believe that Allah will help us, guide us, and improve our situation, then Allah will respond according to that belief. We must believe: That Allah’s plan is always better than ours That Allah’s mercy is greater than our mistakes That Allah’s help is near That nothing is impossible for Allah A powerful example of this is the story of Prophet Musa (AS). When he stood before the sea, with no apparent way out and his people in fear, he did not panic. Instead, he said: “Indeed, my Lord is with me,He will guide me.” (Qur’an 26:62) Before any solution appeared, belief came first. This shows us an important principle: before looking at solutions, we must believe that a solution exists with Allah. When that belief settles in the heart, doors begin to open in ways we never imagined. Life is a test, and one of the greatest parts of that test is trusting Allah even when things seem impossible. True success is not just in achieving goals, but in strengthening our reliance (tawakkul) on Allah. So we must: Strengthen our faith before chasing results Trust Allah’s timing and wisdom Work hard, but with full reliance on Him When belief comes first, effort becomes meaningful, and outcomes become blessed. Consistency > Perfection. Islam doesn’t teach us to do huge things once. It teaches us to keep going. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.” — Bukhari & Muslim Psychology says the same: small actions repeated over time create lasting habits. You don’t have to be perfect every day. Read one page. Pray the extra 2 rak‘ahs. Make one sincere du‘a. Take one small step. Just keep showing up. Because missing a day isn’t failure. Allah revealed that there was one man among them who had been openly sinning for many years, and because of him, the rain was being withheld from the group. Allah told Musa to have him leave the gathering. Before the man exposed himself, he sincerely repented to Allah in private. Allah accepted his repentance, and rain immediately began to fall. When Life Doesn't Make Sense Sometimes we spend so much time chasing what we want that we forget Who is in control. Keep making sincere effort, but do not let your heart become attached to the outcome. Place your trust in Allah. What is meant for you will never miss you, and what misses you was never meant for you. There may be moments when life doe not make sense. Doors close, plans change, and prayers seem delayed. In those moments, remember that Allah's wisdom is greater than our understanding. Allah says: "Perhaps you dislike something while it is good for you, and perhaps you love something while it is bad for you. Allah knows, while you do not know." (Qur'an 2:216) Every delay, every hardship, and every unexpected turn is part of Allah's perfect plan. You may not understand it today, but one day you will look back and realize that Allah was protecting you, teaching you, or guiding you toward something better. The Prophet ﷺ said: "How wonderful is the affair of the believer! There is good for him in every matter... If something good happens, he is grateful, and that is good for him. If hardship befalls him, he is patient, and that is good for him." (Sahih Muslim) So keep praying. Keep striving. Keep trusting. Because in the end, it was never about your timeline, it has always been about Allah's perfect timing. May Allah grant us hearts that trust Allah completely, patience during every trial, gratitude in every blessing, and the ability to recognize Allah's wisdom in every decree. They were pulling you away from your purpose. Your energy. Your values. Your akhirah. Allah says: “Perhaps you hate something while it is good for you.” (2:216) 2: OPPORTUNITIES That job. That proposal. That chance you cried for. The “almost” that slipped away. You thought Allah closed the door. But He was actually closing the fitnah behind it. Allah says: “And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses. Not for them is the choice.” (28:68) 3: COMFORT When life becomes uncomfortable... When the ease disappears... When everything tightens... It feels like punishment, but it’s often Allah elevating you. Allah says: “We will surely test you...” (2:155) 4: PLANS Your plan collapses. Your timeline breaks. Your vision crumbles. This isn’t misfortune. It’s Allah saying: “Your plan would have made you smaller. Mine will make you greater.” “They plan, and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners.” (8:30) O Allah, make us content with Your decree, confident in Your wisdom, grateful for Your blessings, patient through Your trials, and guide us to what is best for our religion, our worldly life, and our Hereafter. What are your top 3 favorite countries that you would like to visit, and why? (We are Muslim, let's leave out Saudi Arabia since it is already at the top of many of our lists.) You can also share a country where you would like to settle permanently, if you are comfortable doing so. My choices: Spain 🇪🇸 I would love to visit Spain because of its beautiful landscapes, stunning beaches, and rich history and culture. The Netherlands 🇳🇱 The Netherlands seems like the perfect blend of modern architecture, efficient urban planning, and natural beauty. A Scandinavian country 🇳🇴🇸🇪🇫🇮 One of my dreams is to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) in person. The breathtaking scenery and peaceful environment make Scandinavia very appealing. As for settling down:I would prefer to settle in a Muslim-majority country, as I currently live in a non-Muslim country and would like to experience living in a society where Islamic values and practices are more widely integrated into daily life.Show more
